A whimsical weekend in a windmill

Want A Whimsical Weekend Break This May? Combine a Shopping Trip with a Windmill Stay!

Nestled in the countryside near bargain hunter’s Mecca Bicester village, this Grade II listed windmill offers a unique stay for those wanting something a bit different to the standard cottage break.

The Windmill Blackthorn Hill offers stunning panoramic views across three counties. The 300-year-old structure has a fascinating history, including losing its original copper fixtures to the war effort in World War II.

Although no longer functional, the windmill has had a new lease of life after being transformed into a luxurious staycation venue.

The building still features its original curved staircase up to the second-floor bedroom, and en suite bathroom.

Recent renovations ensure that guests will enjoy all mod cons while preserving the windmill's charming exposed stone walls.

Situated in Bicester, rural Oxfordshire, the top floor lounge with its panoramic windows offers breathtaking 360 views of the local countryside.

In good weather, guests can enjoy the private lawn area of the roof terrace, complete with a cushioned loveseat for watching sunsets. Ideal if you’re looking for a romantic break or somewhere unique to pop the question.

Secure parking is available and as well as being five minutes from Bicester Village, nearby attractions also include Blenheim palace and Waddesdon Manor.

Windmill stays in May for two people sharing from £300 a night.
