The role

We’re looking for an experienced, creative, and technically proficient Frontend Developer to join our small, talented team of two frontend engineers within a larger product team. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Drive improvements and growth across seven (and growing!) responsive websites and our affiliate site platform:

    LateRooms
    Snaptrip
    Last Minute Cottages
    Big Cottages
    Dog Friendly Cottages
    The Hotel Guru
    My Luxury Hotel
    And more (full list here)

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, performant applications across multiple platforms.
  • Take ownership of projects - lead initiatives, make confident technology decisions, and share knowledge with the team.
  • Collaborate closely with our data scientist, product manager, designers, and marketing professionals to deliver impactful, user-focused solutions.
  • Have a real voice in shaping our roadmap - we’re a flexible company that values initiative, innovation, and thoughtful suggestions.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift, and adaptability is key.
  • And, of course, wear a few hats along the way - we’re a growing startup after all!

The person

We’re looking for somebody who is not only technically capable of writing strong code, but also cares about the user experience and fits in well in the work environment. You will be expected to progress both collaboratively and alone with instruction. You should have:

  • 5+ years of commercial experience building modern web applications.
  • Strong experience with React and familiarity with meta-frameworks such as Gatsby, Next.js, or Nuxt.
  • Proficiency with various UI rendering architectures (SSR, CSR, SSG, ISR, or equivalent) and the ability to apply them appropriately.
  • Skilled in writing maintainable, tested code, including component tests, end-to-end tests, and working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong UX/UI mindset with experience working with design systems, and building visually consistent interfaces.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and the ability to implement inclusive user experiences.
  • Experience optimising client-side code for performance, including techniques like code splitting and lazy loading.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of projects and making confident technical decisions.
  • Comfortable working in person at our Southbank office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus.
